SAMBA FOGO’S DEBUT ALBUM

13 Tracks.
12 Original Songs.
30 Artists Featured.

It may feel like the world has ended, as live shows have all but disappeared. Clubs are shuttered. Broadway is dark. Many performing arts companies are shutting down. But at Samba Fogo, our flame still burns bright - we are still here, tending our creative fire, shining bright through the darkness.

Hear studio-quality recordings of the music you have seen Samba Fogo perform live in concert, now in the comfort of your own home.

“É O Samba, É O Fogo.
O Samba Fogo Arrebate O Coração”

“It is Samba. It is Fire. Samba Fogo Captures the Heart”

The album features studio recordings of songs previously performed live in Samba Fogo concerts

This music is produced in solidarity with Black Lives, with vision and hope for a better future. We believe in black wisdom, and we admire and respect black music. We must listen to, acknowledge, learn from, and cherish the Black and Indigenous roots of the music we play, and the People of Color who create it.

We are in deep gratitude to all the Mães, Pais, Mestres, Alabês, Bambas, and brave warriors who feed and keep the samba spirit alive amidst continued oppression and marginalization of black communities and black art forms in Brazil.

Covid-19 opened up a door for us… the cancelling of every performance opportunity in 2020 made space for us to create our first full-length, professionally mixed and mastered album!

Recorded in 65 days at Boho Digitalia Studios in Salt Lake City, Utah, “O Fogo Brilha” (“The Fire Shines”) is Samba Fogo’s socially distanced response to the challenge of art-making during a global pandemic.
We cannot play music together right now, but we can enjoy this album together, as we all
stay home and stay safe this Winter.
